Tongue Twister Thursday!

I am really tired now, after suffering the jet lag for more than 96 hrs. But I had drag myself outta bed after taking a 10mins nap and decide I have to blog this! From this week onwards, its gonna be TTT every Thursday for me! Yeap... Its The Tongue Twister Thursday! This is clearly what I have set for myself.... to learn the Dutch Language and finally I started! Tonight was the first lesson and I am all geared for it.. here is introducing my native dutch language teacher - Mr Matthieu Quere. I was actually expecting a much younger man since the picture of him on the school website differs so much from who is sitting in front of me. He must have aged alot due to excessive blood loss from teaching complete idiots to the dutch language! hahah... Don't believe? Try comparing the pictures from what I have below to the ones on the website. (www.allwrite.com.sg) You will agree to what I have just said.

My Dutch Teacher...

Ok, Sorry I digress... the purpose of this blog post is not about the teacher... is to remind me of what I have learn today and I've decided that I will blog every Thursday just so I recall what I have learn and practice them on a daily basis there after.

My Daily Bread from Now!

Les Een... that means Lesson One!

I've learn the 26 dutch alphabets which is consist of A - Z. However the pronunciations of these letters differs from that of what we would use when we speak english. And that is a real challenge. I somewhat find Dutch to be extremely difficult versus all other languages because its just one of its kind, not similar to any other language. Matthieu said today to clear all the mind set of the students : "Dutch Language is not difficult... its just different!" Thats quite a good one and I have to agree.

The way to speak dutch is very much making friction at the back of your throat at some time and also rolling your tongue at another. Initially I felt really weird and comical because I feel that I would spit anytime soon. But when everyone else is doing it... you just wanna do it more. So really... its cool to do it in a group.

We have 7 ladies in the same class and all are learning dutch for their dutchie man except for one that is going over to Holland for Studies. Arent women the greatest creature around? They are just so willing to give... and also not afraid of any hard work. Salute! to myself of course! :)

Then I also did Les Twee, which means Lesson Two. This lesson goes through quickly on how we should spell each words. I realise I can't put everything on my blog post because its hard to put it in words clearly unless I copy write from the notes. Which is really dumb! haha so anyway... I really enjoyed the lesson and am already looking forward to the next!

Please wish me success! Love all!

P.S. Ik Hou Van Jou! X
