Mug - Mosquito In Da House!

Mug in Dutch means Mosquito. And yes, there is this mosquito that I've spend alot of time with and realise I haven't really blog about this mosquito. The time I spend with this red-haired mosquito may be even more than that with Jos because when Jos is working, I'll be home with Mug. We are each-other's companion...

So who is Mug? Mosquito in Red? Now... let me present to you..... Our Mosquito in the House!

And Ta-da!!!!

The cutest & biggest mosquitos ever!

Mug is male cat.. almost 3 years old. Fit and super active! I've met him in Oct 2010 in the 2nd storey of a house in a little town named, Dordrecht in Holland. While I've come in contacts with dogs of all kinds, big and small, and I reckon I handle dogs pretty well because you just know what they are up to and canine are man's bestfriend! So handling a dog, even a german shepherd, me have no problem!

But when I was introduced to Mug for the first time... the first thought that really came into my mind was: "Oh Damn, I haven't really have much contact with a cat! What do I do now?"
(P.S. Jos didn't know about my thought of course!haha =))

But nothing to fear! I told myself... animals are just god's creature for human for companion. Moreover, I am an animal person, animal loves me... I can handle them! No worries at all... Mug will love me too.

So... me and Mug made friend. It wasn't really stressful even from the beginning as with cat character being cool and aloof, many times I wished Mug would snug with me on the couch like how Oreo would! (Oreo is my Yorkie) He hardly does that until one day! This is just taken recently! And we have obviously gotten closer and begin to appreciate what I does for him, like opening the door to a German Shepherd! haha. Anyway... He is such a sweet-thing! And I bet Jos is totally jealous when he sees this!

Now back to the beginning... since I had to live with Mug for a few days, I had to know his likes, dislikes etc. Before Jos leaves the house, he would already have put enough food on Mug's food tray for the day. So I don't really have to worry about food for him. But I have seen Jos opening the balcony door umpteen times to let Mug out so he could roam around like all cat does. Therefore I know, each time Mug seat near the door or meow at the door, I have to open the door for him!

Open the Door - Meow!

And I did... and I have no problem doing that. In fact, I enjoy each time he asked to go out and I'd open the door for him. Not such a chore lah! The door is 2 steps away from the couch really! But when Jos has to do it too often, like open the door every 5-10mins, he start complaining ... "Oh come on Mug!" And that sight... is quite amusing! haha

As time went by, I begin to love being around Mug. I enjoy staring back at him when he stared at me. And we would locked eyes for half a minute! haha.. its really funny because I really wanted to guess what he is up to next.

The first time Mug jump on me in the middle of the night while I was sleeping was freaking scary, I was all curled up. I didn't want him near me while I was lying down. I felt helpless and defenseless, I won't move an inch just in case he scratch me on my face! And then he would gently stretch out his paws and still gently touch my face. He did it once... he did it twice.. and now, I cannot remember how many time he does it! haha.. now I am beginning to miss Mug.

In Holland, it seems to me, every household has cat or even cats! Some people think that cats are haughty creatures that show little or no affection but cats are really loving and affectionate to their owner and even protective sometimes. I watch Mug snuggling up to Jos all the time. So the myth about cat being haughty are so wrong.

Mug with me stealing some rest...
