I've been thinking alot about the new friends that I recently met through the dutch language course that I have been attending. There is more than 5 of such friends with the same fate but I have gotten specifically closer to 5 of them. Its sets me thinking about how their long distances relationship works when they meet their partner less than two time in less than a year and a half and what's more .... one of them is even married to her dutch hubby after just 2 meetings. I cannot believe and surely cannot comprehend. All I could agree is love moves any mountain so I guess theirs must be love. I am just going to go through how each of them met and fall in love with their partners:
Lady I - A pretty dark skin turkish lady met her dutch husband during her holiday in Japan in a hotel lobby. And their love life blossom from there. Long distance for a year and a half and got married. Now happily married, living in a rented (SGD8k per month) apartment in the heart of Orchard Road. Lady I isnt working... she is not required to work.
(I've met with Lady I's husband and find him a really nice guy who love Asia so much he hates Holland. Strange! Because I love Holland, I can imagine myself living in Holland.)
Lady J - A plump & cute Singaporean lady who met her dutch boyfriend over a online gaming experience. And finally met in Holland when Lady J decides to visit Europe for holiday. Her first trip to Holland and they fell in love. Together for 3 weeks and Lady J left the country. Both continue to stay in touch and in love. Her dutch boyfriend just visited Singapore in April for 3 weeks. And that was it..... met twice, 3 weeks each time and lasted 1.5 years!
Lady XY - A skinny with super curly short hair Singaporean lady who also met her Dutch Husband over an internet chat room. Met twice over 1.5 years for 6 months and now married, waiting to be back in Holland with her man. Lady XY is only 22 which her dutch husband is 25!
Lady K - A short & Studios Singaporean Lady who met her dutch boyfriend online jsut 2 months ago and fell in love online. Till date, have not met. keep their relationship going via online web cam and chat. She is 23!
Lady OL - A skinny & Tall Singaporean lady. Married with a dutch man now with a daugther! Bliss..!
Having my mind full of my new found friends, I keep wondering how so can a LDR like theirs works. Because even with mine, I seen Jos every 2 months but even then I find it so hard to maintain. Sometimes I only wish I have more faith or is it because I am just too realistic?
Whatever it is... I'll hang on and maybe one day I will see light!
